ITALIAN METAMORPHOSIS
“You must remember this…
“In the pages that follow this preface, others will speak of the works and the history of the various trends and movements. I, however, will use this exhibition as a pretext for talking about my own personal history, from when I was eleven years old to when I was thirty-six. But this is not an act of narcissism; on the contrary, my personal memories enable me to bear witness to an entire generation.” Though my time in Rome won’t even come close to the many years Umberto Eco spent there, his influence is still very present in my preparation for going abroad. Throughout my seven weeks in Rome, I want to provide a viewpoint that is representational of all of the people that dream of travelling the world, but have never gotten the chance to. I want to create an outlet where I can share what I’m learning inside and outside the classroom. I want to welcome the world in with open arms. On March 7th, I will begin my metamorphosis.
